  • 350 g All-purpose Flour (2 ¾ cups or 12.35 oz)
  • 200 ml Warm Water (7/8 cup or 6.76 fl oz)
  • 200 ml Orange Juice (approximately 2 oranges or 6.76 fl oz)
  • 180 g Granulated Sugar (¾ cup or 6.35 oz)
  • 100 ml Sunflower Seed Oil (7/16 cup or 3.38 fl oz)
  • 2 Orange Zests, grated
  • 1 packet of Vanilla Baking Powder

Instructions

How to make an orange donut with water

  • To make an orange donut with water, start by pouring all the water and the filtered juice of two oranges into a large bowl. Blend to mix.
  • While blending the two liquid ingredients, add the sugar to dissolve it completely.
  • When a white foam forms on the surface, gradually pour in the oil and continue blending.
  • Now we can add the remaining ingredients: flour, the two orange zests, and finally, the baking powder. Pour in the flour while blending at medium speed and continue working the dough for a few minutes to avoid lumps.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and prepare the donut mold (using the same one we used) by greasing it with oil and dusting it with flour or using a non-stick cooking spray. When the oven reaches the desired temperature, bake in convection mode for about 40 minutes.
  • Check the donut's doneness with a toothpick before removing from the oven. Your eggless and butterless orange donut with water is ready to be served with a light dusting of powdered sugar!

Tips

You can serve the orange donut with water either with powdered sugar or with a delicious dark chocolate glaze, which has always been a great match for the orange flavor.
If you want to make this donut gluten-free, you can substitute all-purpose flour with rice flour and potato starch.
